Pekka Parviainen (b. 1981) is a Helsinki based visual artist. Parviainen’s works process the conflicting relationship between man and nature.
Out now! A graphic novel collaboration between brothers Janne & Pekka Parviainen. Susitaival (Suisto, 2024, 206 pages) is a comic story by Janne Parviainen and Pekka Parviainen about the realization of a long-term dream, brotherhood, aging and nature experience, as well as the unstoppable change of the climate around us. The story covers a five-day hike along the Susitaival wilderness route in Eastern Finland.
Further reading: The book Natura Major presents Parviainen’s work through works from four solo exhibitions. The exhibitions were organized at Galleria Bronda in Helsinki from 2014 to 2020. The book also sheds light on Parviainen’s thinking behind the works.
